The Future, or what hope looks like in the upside down

I think we’re nearing the point where the only chance a Republican will have to get re-elected is to cut the 🍊 loose.

He’s about to become Sarah Palin without her makeup.

Or Mel Gibson without his wig.

He will slowly become a pariah in the daylight.

They will expect, well demand, that you forget their allegiance to a craven, corrupt sociopath.

As it will turn out, they stood for racism, xenophobia, misogyny and homophobia when it was fashionable.

Like a pair of totalitarian bell bottoms.

They will want you to forget that they stood by while so much pain was inflicted on so many people while they wore “Read the Transcript” and “He Can Grab My Pussy” T-shirts.

And MAGA hats.

And screamed “Lock Her Up.”

Whooped it up.

And laughed at disabled people and agreed Nazis were some very fine people.

They’ll want you to forget that they sold their soul… well, the ones who had one to begin with.

They’ll have moral amnesia and do their best to Men in Black zap yours.

They’ll try the uzsh gas lighting and the economy.

Blah blah… which is slowly becoming blah blah.

Let’s see how that goes.

I will remind them that they actually stand for nothing.

Because that’s all they’ll have left.

What’s left after this craziness?

I can only shake my head and wonder how this happened.

No matter what, the only Democratic candidates with any hope of replacing the moral vacuum left by the dip into fascism will be Buttigieg, Biden and Klobuchar.

It’ll be an interesting year.

That I won’t forget.
