So for the last 6 years I’ve bought so many of the “insider” books written by people in and around the White House… as a way to make sense of the insanity that we’ve endured since an 🍊failed businessman and game show host liar descended an escalator and proclaimed Mexicans are rapists and drug dealers.

Ah, memories.

Like, I’ve seriously bought probably 10.. the Bob Woodwards and the Carol Loenigs and the Rachel Maddows and the yada yada.

I bought them as comfort, as ammunition and a voyeuristic primer on what I was certain would lead up to something..anything.. to end the daily crazy emanating from the Republicans.

I don’t think I ever got through one.

This year, I’ve started to think of them as sorta entertainment red meat for my ilk.

I’ve broken my addiction…to the books and MSNBC and CNN for the most part.

We’re in an even deeper hole of all- 🍊-all the time nonstop media coverage now..6 fucking years later and it’s painfully obvious no one in the media has learned a thing about how to cover a presidential candidate rapist out on bail for leading a coup to overthrow the government.

No one seems to frame the conversation in reality.

Anyway, the latest carnivorous offering is by Cassidy Hutchinson..

The book is out today.. and last night was the big Rachel Maddow rollout interview with Cassidy.. who’s turned into something of a liberal heroine.

Rachel said she was admittedly nervous for the interview.. her neck broke out in splotches when it started.

Ms. Hutchinson is extremely poised and smart and articulate.. especially for her age I think. She’s quite impressive.

Maddow’s focus for the interview was recounting the crazy chickenswiththeirheadscutoff fevered shit preceding and during the coup.

I can just imagine…ok I did imagine. And, other than a little sliver of tartar it didn’t surprise me nor enlighten me that this cabal was just as fucking crazy as I had thought.

What did surprise me is Hutchinson was flat broke at the end of trump’s installment.. 200 bucks in her checking account.. and she was the first one in her family who went to college.

Now, that interested me.

How did someone fresh out of college with a very humble background wind up with an extremely important job steps away from the center of world power?

Of course, Rachel didn’t ask that question.

The first thing that popped into my mind is she was groomed.. sorta like predators do with kids from broken homes..

Think Michael Jackson. I think an awful lot of vetting took place.

The truth is she would have made more money at Starbucks, so what motivated her to get that job?

I’m sure it was a very strong ideological belief in the Republican Party, and to the failed game show host himself for starters.

When she got that job, if she didn’t live under a rock, she already knew trump was credibly accused of rape..later to be verified in court.. was a racist for sure and all around toxic asshole.

Why do that gig for less money than you’d make at Ross Dress for Less?

Because she wanted to be famous.. red meat famous. Like nearly every single person who knew better but took the job anyway.

No one in these meaty interviews ever really questions the motivations of not only why people take these gigs, but why they stay while the world burns around them.

If we’re looking for the truth, that’s part of it.

The interview continued with her boss burning shit and smelling like smoke and more zany insurrectionist shenanigans.

But then, the failure of journalism took center stage and swore me off of buying her book..which I had planned to do because I wanted to financially support this woman from a humble background.

This truth teller. This ally. This brave person.

She’s still a Republican.

And that’s the part that also is rarely, if ever, questioned in media interviews.

Hutchinson looked into the camera and rather sheepishly asked her Republicans to not vote for trump.

She’s not.. but I’m sure whatever audience she was trying to reach, her plea landed like a fart in a tub. And most people who say they wont vote for him do anyway from my anecdotal experience before I stopped asking.

She now identifies as a Mitt Romney Republican… it’s nice to know there’s 3 now with Liz Cheney thrown in for fun.

That’s not a political party.. Cheney is no longer in office and Romney just flew the coop.

That’s more of a coffee klatsch .. it’s most definitely not the Republican Party…because that Republican Party doesn’t exist.

She identifies herself as “ more ideologically conservative than Mark Meadows”… or something like that.. which means she still does not believe in women’s reproductive freedom and probs is cool with the gays and the trans being second class citizens.

Rachel: “How can you be a member of a party that you witnessed first hand foment a coup? How are you a member of a party that is actively shutting down the federal government?”

How about that Rachel. How about that.

The real red meat was saved for the end of the interview.

It’s the blonde highlight scandal.

And the Matt Goetz thinks you’re dating calumny!

Evidently her boss’s 🍊boss suggested she get blonde highlights.

That’s the penultimate crux of the interview… Rachel ..in a rather “you poor dear” mixed with a “fuck toxic masculinity” tone said:

So now, not only is the red meat fed to the that’sinappropriateandmenareassholes audience.. which is formidable, it also skips the part where the guy who said that just called for one of his generals to be executed and a government shutdown of the media.

Like in the last week.

I’d say that’s fairly low hanging highlights for an interview with someone who is still a member of a party that overwhelmingly supports the crazy fuck who said that.

It’s an absurd, damaging and dangerous juxtaposition that is simply baiting people.

And the Matt Goetz stuff is more suited to TMZ.. but it also simply fires up everybody on any side who would rather be outraged than anything else.

If you need proof how insane the current state of politics is… a guy who has been criminally charged with numerous felonies including bribery and espionage is still sitting in office, with a drip of 4 Democratic Senators at this point calling for his resignation…

While a guy who took a dumb picture years earlier when he was a professional comedian had I think around 40 Democratic Senators..including the minority leader…calling for his resignation and drumming him out of the party in the same time frame due to identity politics….
